My Investing Strategy for 2012 [ February 5th, 2012 ] | 194 views | Leave a Comment

Although the market outlook is uncertain due to the European debt crisis but I will also plan to make minimal stock investments. I will only invest my savings in high yield dividend stocks when the market plunges. I think property is the best hedge against inflation. Therefore, I will invest in a medium cost apartment soon. Besides, gold is another option to preserve our money and diversify our portfolio. It would be great if you can plan to allocate some funds for gold of 20g to 50g.

investing strategy

My recent strategy is to invest for income and capital preservation in view of the market volatility. For my unit trust investment, I will try to diversify by allocating one third of my portfolio into medium term aggressive fund. Meanwhile, for my stock portfolio, I will try to minimize my risk by investing in defensive counters which also provide dividends consistently.

Credit Cards Club

Before using credit cards, it’s better try to think on how will you make use of it. If you expect to often pay your monthly bill in full, then your best option may be no annual fee credit cards and offers a longer grace period. If you sometimes carry over a balance from month to month, then try to find a lower interest rate types.

As everybody known, credit cards are very demanding nowadays. Mostly, the average annual percentage rate is about 15%. With that kind of interest, it’s quite tough to pay down because it is consistently compounding interest if you did not clear your outstanding balance.

Dim Sum Business

This business is labour intensive. But in Penang, it is normally run as self service way.

Many Dim Sum restaurant that hires foreign worker like Indonesian and Vietnamese and the services provided mostly are not good and many customers frustrated for not getting what they have ordered with immediate response.

If the food quality is good, I don’t think customer will have such fussy feeling and may be this will force them to even queue for seats during the peak time.

Sometimes factors like location and availability do affect people choice of restaurant.

I think the target age is from teenager to retiree. So it’s a very huge market.

Huh…It’s impressed me indeed. Last 2 months my Page Rank drop from 2 to 0. This happened to me when I noticed that writing post that’s offered by advertiser could lead to getting zero Page Rank. However, I gained back higher page rank just start of this month.

With this PR, I can earn much more money from now on. I also hope that this can last forever.

Say Goodbye to Digi Prepaid

Back to past 4 days, I signed up Digi Postpaid Optimum Plan which is sublined under my best friend’s account. With this kind of idea, I don’t get the benefits of 5000 points yield RM 140 rebate.( For Principal Line User Only) Once you accumulate the points till 6000 points , you will get total of RM280 rebate.

Every single ringgit you spent will earn 1 point. I think I will use about 3 years to collect 1000 points since I am not a heavy usage on phone calling. Averagely will spend approximately RM25-RM30 per month, so only RM300-RM360 annually. (US$95-US$115)
*Please take note, the points can be last for 3 years only, so you must redeem it within 3 years otherwise it will be forfeited.

Digi

Besides that, if you are using subline then your Monthly Access Fee only RM10, but if you use credit card payment for auto billing then your Monthly Access Fee is deducted RM 10. Hence, I have no chance to pay my access fees. I just pay the amount of my phone usage only. Haha…
*For your info, those principle line user need to pay RM20, if use auto billing method then only pay RM10 per month.
