My Investing Strategy for 2012 [ February 5th, 2012 ] | 194 views | Leave a Comment

Although the market outlook is uncertain due to the European debt crisis but I will also plan to make minimal stock investments. I will only invest my savings in high yield dividend stocks when the market plunges. I think property is the best hedge against inflation. Therefore, I will invest in a medium cost apartment soon. Besides, gold is another option to preserve our money and diversify our portfolio. It would be great if you can plan to allocate some funds for gold of 20g to 50g.

investing strategy

My recent strategy is to invest for income and capital preservation in view of the market volatility. For my unit trust investment, I will try to diversify by allocating one third of my portfolio into medium term aggressive fund. Meanwhile, for my stock portfolio, I will try to minimize my risk by investing in defensive counters which also provide dividends consistently.

Why Singapore Richer Than Malaysia ?

Singapore is a small country but they got lot of money, so they can develop their country in just 10 years while Malaysia is a big country so we need more than that to develop and become rich. Singapore is rich in human resources and good in financial management whereas Malaysia “NO”. If the natural resources in Malaysia are well managed, the situation would be quite different.

Rich Vs Poor

Singapore does not have any natural resources and only limited space for building. They even do not have enough water and buy from us. Singapore government is very clever and know to make money from people. Haha…Singapore buy only 3 cents per 1000 gallons of water from Malaysia, after “clean ” it up and sold to people for 50-60 cents per 1000 gallons, very easy to be rich, right?

How’s Dividend Payout of Amanah Saham Malaysia ?

Amanah Saham

I made withdrawal from Public Bank FD and went to buy Amanah Saham Malaysia at Maybank branch on Dec 1 2008, Monday. The branch looked like a fish market as more and more people come in by the minute. Hehe…Malaysian Behavior!!! Since I already got an opened account last year, so I just take a number and wait instead of queuing up.

The only thing that I felt unfair is there might have someone who has relationship with the bank officer able to buy even before the bank opening.

Where To Grab The Fund?

i) Maybank
ii) CIMB
iii) RHB
iv) Post Offices

The minimum investment amount for ASM and ASW 2020 is 100 unit which equivalent to MYR 100 whereas Public Mutual require at least MYR 1,000 for unit trust investment. And the fund’s financial year-end is fixed on March 31 of every year.

This investment fund gives assurance to people who are already retired and semi-retiring senior citizens. I truly encourage people who are looking for capital guaranteed to invest into ASM. Well, this is the only unit trust fund that can give you pretty good dividend payout around 6-8% annually. Hence, it’s about twice better than your Bank FD rate.

Do you know how often they launch Amanah Saham Malaysia? Based on my personal experience, it is only launched once per year. And it is not possible to buy on the normal days even if someone could have cashed out the units.

How If You Lost Your Passbook

The only thing that you can do is try to get a new passbook, thus you need to get a form from the ASM agent, fill it up and pay the stamping fees of MYR10.

Google Adsense

I’ve started my Google AdSense account since last year, but 3 months ago my ads suddenly disappeared from my site. I checked my account and I don’t’ see any sign of being banned. I was wondering what could have gone wrong and I have requested an appeal from Google support but they never respond. I have recently switched to BidVertiser to tell the truth that I am not happy with Google service.
