New Year’s Resolutions for 2022

2021 was a year full of new challenges, filled with ups and downs. We’re living in unprecedented times. I hope that all of you’ve managed to overcome each hurdle and come out stronger and better.

When challenges arise, rise above them and embrace them with a positive mindset.

Career: Get my career in shape

In my case, after I lost my job working for a large MNC and growing on a fast track career, I made a decision to work for a small and medium-sized enterprise, hoping that my job will be more secure. This was a decision which was well within my comfort zone.

If you’re not quite where you want to be career-wise, then the new year is a good time to start fresh with something different. January is the perfect time to search for a new position, as although the competition may be high, I believe there are many employers with the same attitude as you, start the new year positively.

Instead of blindly applying to whichever jobs that pop up, I have set my career goals of identifying 25 to 30 companies that I would like to work for. This will help tailoring my applications and cover letters to specific jobs, which have a better chance of standing out as a candidate.

At every job you should either learn or earn. Either is fine. Both is best. But if it’s neither, quit.

Relationship: Build better relationships

I will try new things in new year. It can be trying a new restaurant or going on a getaway to a never visited destination. Research shows that by doing these types of things, you will grow as a person and keep relationship going stronger.

The year 2021 was difficult for almost everyone worldwide, so it’s important to stay within our set budget. I will take a look at my wish list and start cutting things that I could probably do without and start planning for the big day.

Wherever you go, go with all your heart.

Learning: Master a new skill

I can accept failure. Everyone fails at something. But I can’t accept not trying. I will try to make a list of areas that I can improve and find solutions to fix those problems.
– Report a problem immediately
– Keep work flowing

Get the learning right, and the earnings will follow.

Wealth: Reduce debt

When it comes to buying a new home, most of us will apply for loans to finance the purchase unless you have enough cash to pay for it in full. I realised that the interest charges that comes along with it could be a long-term burden, and I want to reduce it as much as possible.
